Last Friday the VVHS UIL academic teams, consisting of over 40 students, traveled to WCJC to compete in District 26AA competition. The following students received medals, and the ones who placed in the top 3* will be moving onto regional competition at San Marcos on April 15-16. The 4th place finishers are the 1st alternates to region and a few of them may be called upon to compete.

Last week District 29AA held most of its academic contests beginning with Monday night's LD debate and continuing with Ready Writing at Boling on Thursday and finally all the other written contests & all the speaking events at WCJC on Friday. Van Vleck students made a rather improved showing this year bringing home the following medals and qualifying quite a number of students for the regional meet. Regional competitors are marked with an asterisk**.

Last night the debate team traveled to Boling for district competition, and we came away with 2 out of 3 regional qualifiers!!! Congratulations to Jaylon Brinkley, 2nd place & regional qualifier & to Shelle Bacon, 3rd place & regional qualifier. Kyrsten Blackmon placed 6th overall.
I am super proud of these students! It was a fantastic night for VV!
